Job description

The Head of IT Operations is responsible for leading the IT Operations team, ensuring the smooth functioning, stability, and performance of core insurance systems, including GIS and TAOS. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), this role oversees IT service delivery, incident management, and operational efficiency, aligning IT services with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the IT Operations team handling GIS and TAOS core insurance systems.
  • Develop and implement IT operational strategies to enhance system performance, security, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with the CTO and other senior leaders to align IT operations with business goals.

Service Delivery & System Management

  • Oversee service delivery and ensure high availability, stability, and performance of GIS and TAOS systems.
  • Implement best practices in IT service management (ITSM), ensuring timely issue resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Establish monitoring frameworks to proactively detect and resolve system issues.

Incident & Problem Management

  • Manage incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to minimize disruptions.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and implement preventive maintenance plans.

Process Optimization & Compliance

  • Drive process improvements in IT operations, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure IT policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure smooth IT operations.
  • Act as the key liaison between IT operations and other business units to support technology-driven initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in GIS, TAOS, and core insurance systems operations.
  • Proven experience in IT service management (ITSM), incident management, and infrastructure operations.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks, cybersecurity best practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong ability to manage teams, optimize processes, and drive IT operational excellence.
