MANAGER - HR & ADMIN (FULL TIME BASED IN PAPUA NEW GUINEA)

This is a FULL TIME POSITION based in PAPUA NEW GUINEA.

You will play an important role, such as:

  • Identify legal requirements and governmental reporting regulations affecting human resource functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance;
  • Assist the HQ in preparing and finalizing the Job Descriptions and Key Performance index;
  • Work closely with various divisions in a consultancy role, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures;
  • Liaise with a wide range of people involved in policy areas such as staff performance and safety;
  • Plan and sometimes deliver training; analyze training needs in conjunction with the line divisional managers;
  • Advise management on appropriate resolutions of employee relations and governmental administration issues; respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs;
  • Administer salary administration programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the Company; advise on pay and remuneration issues; administer benefits programs such as term life, health and personal accident insurance, leave passage, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance;
  • Develop and implement policies on issues like working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures, and absence management;
  • Negotiate with staff and their representatives (for example, trade union officials) on issues relating to employment and conditions; represent the Company at personnel-related hearings and investigations;
  • Recruit, interview, test, and select employees to fill vacant positions;
  • Ensure the department has good and systematic filing systems and records;
  • Investigate accidents, review and comment on reports, and prepare reports for the insurance company;
  • Oversee arrangements for permits for foreign employees;
  • Prepare the budget for human resources and administration operations;
  • Oversee the preparation of employee separation notices and related documentation, and conduct exit interviews to determine compliance with Company policy;
  • Oversee the overall divisional compliance with Company policies, procedures, administration systems, and legislation.

To succeed in this role, we will need you to have:

  • Open to Malaysian citizens only;
  • Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Human Resource Management, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or equivalent;
  • At least 8 years of working experience in a relevant field/environment for this position;
  • Good knowledge of Human Resource and Administration;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; good human resource management skills;
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, integrity, self-motivated with a high degree of commitment and ability to work under time pressure to meet deadlines and objectives;
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
