Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements for the group, including subsidiaries and joint ventures.
  2. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with IFRS, GAAP, or other applicable accounting standards.
  3. Manage the intercompany elimination process and address complex consolidation issues.

Group Reporting:

  1. Prepare and present consolidated financial reports to senior management, the board of directors, and external stakeholders.
  2. Develop and maintain the group reporting calendar, ensuring timely submission of financial reports.
  3. Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
  4. Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.

Technical Accounting and Compliance:

  1. Monitor and interpret new accounting standards and regulations, assessing their impact on the group's financial reporting.
  2. Implement necessary changes to accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  3. Provide technical accounting guidance to the finance team and other departments.

System Implementation and Maintenance:

  1. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial consolidation and reporting systems.
  2. Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the consolidation system.
  3. Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to streamline reporting.

Team Leadership and Development:

  1. Lead and manage a team of consolidation and reporting professionals.
  2. Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for team members.
  3. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.

Stakeholder Management:

  1. Act as the primary point of contact for consolidation and reporting matters within the organization.
  2. Collaborate with finance teams across different business units to ensure consistency in reporting.
  3. Communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CA preferred.
  2. 10+ years in accounting/financial reporting, 5+ years in a leadership role.
  3. Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, consolidation software, ERP systems, analytical skills, communication, and leadership abilities.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  5. Solution-oriented with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
