Responsibilities:

• Well verse with industry-standard contract forms such as PAM, PWD, FIDIC, CIDB, and JCT.
• Manage commercial and contractual aspects from pre-tender to post-contract stages, overseeing contract administration throughout project lifecycles.
• Able to draft construction related agreements such as letters of award, letters of intent, conditions of contract, sub-contracts, nominated sub-contracts, novation agreements, performance bonds, warranties and consultancy agreements. Lead negotiations with employers, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
• Assessing risks associated with construction contracts by preparing detailed risk assessment reports on all letters of award and conditions of contract.
• Support project teams by drafting well-structured and precise contractual correspondence in accordance with contract requirements.
• Proven expertise in drafting Notices of intention to claim for extensions of time (“EOT”) and loss and expense (“L&E”) due to delaying events, variations, and claims for losses and expenses, in accordance with contractual provisions. Must possess a strong understanding of contract terms, procedural requirements, and the ability to ensure timely and accurate submissions to safeguard entitlements.
• Knowledgeable in contractual termination processes and in managing CIPAA claims.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in engineering, quantity surveying or construction management.
• A minimum of 15 years' experience in building and infrastructural/civil engineering works, preferably with a main contractor or consultancy firm focusing on contractual matters.
• This role requires meticulous attention to detail, comprehensive knowledge of construction contracts, and a strategic approach to managing time-sensitive claims to safeguard project entitlements.
• Exceptional command of English, as this position requires extensive drafting of contractual letters and EOT and L&E applications.
