Job description

You'll be the person to drive the business direction together with the Regional Finance Director, drive process improvement and to lead a team towards business excellence.

Our client is a market leader in the industry that they're in and is currently looking for someone who is strategic, to be able to drive strategic growth, hands-on and build the team and also to deal with various stakeholders.

Description

  • Lead month-end closing process, providing guidance to finance managers.
  • Review and analyze the profit and loss statement, balance sheet, deferred income, accruals, provisions, reconciliations, revenue recognition, discretionary spending, and capital expenditure.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger and sub-ledger accounts by reviewing journal entries.
  • Work closely with finance managers on monthly flash reports and lead month-end reporting to the Group.
  • Review and enhance financial policies and procedures, ensuring they are documented and up to date.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports for the Regional Finance Director and assist in consolidating data for analysis.
  • Oversee tracking of open requisitions for hiring and attrition in line with the budget.
  • Collaborate with business to develop annual budgets that align with strategic goals.
  • Assist with the strategic 5-year plan as needed.
  • Lead the management of the annual statutory audit and tax filings.
  • Ensure adherence to Group policies and IFRS requirements by working closely with team.
  • Address statutory audit queries promptly and review proposed journal entries for adjustments or reclassification.
  • Review corporate tax computations and provide recommendations.
  • Ensure awareness of double-tax treaties and manage withholding tax ledgers.
  • Ensure compliance with transfer pricing reporting and the global minimum tax regime and local statutory requirements.
  • Lead cash flow reporting and standardize billing communication and timelines, consolidating accurate forecasts for receivables.
  • Establish procedures for identifying, managing, and reporting potential bad debts.
  • Collaborate on forecasting accounts receivables and payables to estimate cash flow needs.
  • Manage inter-company transactions, ensuring compliance with timelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with team to gather data for Group Insurance policy renewal, including student PA coverage.
  • Manage banking mandates and company documents.
  • Ensure adherence to Group Treasury Policy and serve as the primary contact for local banks on treasury matters.
  • Provide financial advisory services business and support the Regional Finance Director on financial and tax reporting, month-end reviews, financial controls, and best practices.
  • Stay updated on international and local regulations, including IFRS, GAAP, transfer pricing, tax matters, and treasury.
  • Lead finance improvements and process changes.

Profile

  • Degree in Finance and Accounting.
  • Preferably someone who is Chartered Accountant (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW etc).
  • Prior industry experience in education/hospitality/healthcare will be added advantage.
  • Min 8 years experience with 5 years in leadership position.
  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and leadership capability.
  • Agile and adaptable to changes with strong stakeholder management.
