Drive and deliver continuous and quantifiable improvement in the operational effectiveness and efficiency of all plants in the area of instrumentation, analytical and process control.
Ensure that necessary support for instrument, analytical and process control activities and issues is provided to plants via planned and optimised in-source and out-source of work.
Develop appropriate tools, techniques, practices and methods to ensure combined Field and OC instrumentation and process control objectives are attained.
Ensure that Advanced Process Control is developed and applied within Linde plants and the required technology, hardware and software is implemented and continually improved to meet the objectives of the Linde Gas business.
Ensure that Instrument & Process Control (l&PC) initiatives support the Linde SHEQ group Policy.
Maintain prioritised resource planning work list and by working with Procurement, ensure that a l&PC outsource flex strategy is in place.
Ensure that all in-sourced or out-sourced work is accomplished to required codes and procedures, internal and external standards.
Work with the Regions, People Capability, and other Platforms to ensure that Field l&PC staff are competent and that training and/or capability gaps are uncovered and mitigated.
Develop, own and maintain IMSS instrumentation and process control content and contribute to related PM's.
Champion pro-active l&PC improvement, defined by efficiency, maintenance spend optimization or reduction of cost of downtime by working with the regional team, Performance Systems and other platforms regularly review asset data, events, and trends to identify initiatives, projects, or programs that close identified asset management gaps, share best practice, and maximize On Site Operations leverage.

Work with Performance Systems to ensure that optimum IS functionality, infrastructure and support requirements are defined and monitored as it relates to plant and OC l&PC needs.
Represent and coordinate On Site Operations l&PC interests in the proposal and project commercialization process, including scope and spares input and related new plant acceptance activities.
Collaborate as part of the Regional Tonnage l&PC Platform.
Support plant reliability, efficiency, contingency/risk and 1/0 health check initiatives.
Ensure that l&PC aspects of major cost of downtime events are investigated, root cause is determined, and that lessons learned are developed and shared throughout the region.
Assist Field and OC with direct l&PC support during plant outages and extraordinary circumstances.
Select the ideal software tools for implementing advanced process control.
Develop best practices for the implementation of advanced controls for the Linde plants. This includes advanced control strategy applied generically and specifically to Linde plants, use of vendors, and project schedule.
Lead the integration, setup and commissioning of APC hard- and software.
Proactively suggest improvements to existing systems to Tonnage operations team.
Train local users on APC tools.
Be the APC expert for Country and provide assistance to operations teams as required.
Develop and maintain standards and systems for APC applications.
