Sri KDU International School Subang Jaya is in the outskirts of the safe, modern and vibrant capital city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We are a growing COBIS-member school, in our sixth academic year. Are you passionate about Early Years Education and nurturing a love of learning?

We are looking for an energetic and committed EYFS teacher to join our wonderful school community for August 2025. Experience of one of the following is essential: The UK Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage OR the New Zealand: Te Whariki (National Early Childhood Curriculum) OR the Australian Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

Person Specification

Preferable Skills:

  1. Play-Based Learning Expertise – Ability to design engaging, structured, and free-play activities.
  2. Early Literacy & Numeracy – The teaching of phonics, early reading, and foundational maths concepts.
  3. Assessment & Observation – Conducting of EYFS Profile assessments and Progress Checks.
  4. Differentiation & Inclusivity – Adapting learning for SEN (Special Educational Needs) and EAL (English as an Additional Language) learners.
  5. Understanding of Child Development – Knowledge of cognitive, social, and emotional growth from birth to 5.

About the Role

A clear focus on learning is the foundation stone of Sri KDU teacher standards, which guide and inform our approach to our students’ learning and development across each age range. We are inviting applications from teachers who are fully aligned with this ethos and demonstrate the following:

Know their students as people and how they learn

It is an expectation that Sri KDU teachers have detailed knowledge of not only the developmental characteristics and learning needs of the students they teach, but also their personalities and who they are as people. This requires real empathy and skill in meeting the wide variety of individual learning and pastoral needs of international school students with their differing linguistic, cultural and educational circumstances.

Plan and deliver excellent learning and teaching

It is an expectation that Sri KDU teachers not only have up to date knowledge of their respective curricula but that they have high expectations for their students and as a result, set challenging learning goals. We want our students to gain the best results of which they are capable. Therefore, Sri KDU teachers use a variety of learning and teaching strategies, ideas, resources and digital technology to support their students in achieving these goals and results. They encourage their students to develop a love of learning, of exploring ideas and of discovering the world about them. They encourage active student participation in classes with an emphasis on understanding, creativity and critical thinking so that our students are able to work confidently with others.

Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning and progress

Post-holder Qualifications, Experience

The successful candidate requirement

  1. QUALIFICATIONS & PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
    1. University educated with an Honours Degree.
    2. Recognised EYFS qualification.
    3. Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  2. KNOWLEDGE
    1. In-depth knowledge and understanding of:
      1. School curriculum – Early Years Framework, English National Curriculum/Cambridge Curriculum.
      2. ELL (English as an Additional Language) provision.
      3. Current educational issues and up to date curriculum developments.
      4. Application of effective learning and teaching strategies that attain high levels of student achievement.
