Mining Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Assist Mining & Chief Geology in handling technical and operational mining.
• Ensure that underground resources such as minerals, metals etc. are extracted safely and efficiently.
• Evaluate, plan and oversee the construction of mine site and specify the processes, labour usage and equipment required to extract minerals and ores from the earth.
• Coordinate with geologists and conduct feasibility studies, mine design, operational planning, development of processes, and ascertain extraction risks.
• Conduct sub-surface surveys to identify the characteristics of potential mining sites.
• Investigate mineral deposits and work with geologists to evaluate and analyze profitability of the site if mined.
• Plan, develop and implement extraction systems.
• Collaborate with the HSE team for the design, implementation, and coordination of mine safety programs.
• Ensure all related safety SOPs and Company policies are strictly adhered to.
• Ensure site operations are in compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements and regulations.
• Be involved in mine closure activities, including final land restoration after mining operations conclude.
• Maintain proper records of activities carried out.
• Collect data using drones and related data processing, and prepare monthly reports for management.
• Monitor mining operations in detail, including machine arrangements, drilling and blasting processes, and plant operations.
• Provide technical advice and support in mining operations, processing plant, and geologist team regarding the overall mining plan.
• Work closely with other professionals engaged in the entire mining operations for effective execution of daily production activities at site.
• Ensure confidentiality of all information, particularly matters related to the Company, handling such confidential information with utmost discretion.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate superior or Management from time to time.

Requirements:

• Must possess a Degree in Mineral Resources Engineering or any related field.
• Minimum 2 years working experience in Mining Engineering.
• Proficient in Geovia Surpac, Microsoft 365, Whittle, QGIS.
• Experience in operating drones and related equipment.
• Ability to work under pressure/overtime to meet deadlines.
• Articulate, strategic thinker, with good problem-solving skills.
• Able to cope with the physical demands of the job.
• Possess a high level of integrity, initiative, drive, commitment, and a sense of urgency.
