At AEM, we are passionate about people and are big on customer-centricity. The Process Engineer (PE) ensures that manufacturing lines adhere to safety, Lean, and quality standards while developing, standardizing, and optimizing processes from start-up to customer delivery.

SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Process (HQ) team to understand the product build recipe. Make recommendations to the Process (HQ) team on the initial version of the manufacturing WI. Subsequently own the manufacturing WI to ensure that the build quality and efficiency is implemented and reflects the build processes.
  • Understand manufacturing processes that are generating quality issues and put in process controls that ensure that critical build steps are implemented to ensure build quality. (Sources of feedback can be from Quality, manufacturing rework areas etc.).
  • Use lean manufacturing approaches to drive productivity improvement and cost reduction. Work with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to develop jigs and fixtures that enable quick builds or ensure quality process steps. Develop training programs or processes that enhance the build processes.
  • Work with the manufacturing team and engineering (Process (HQ), Core) if manufacturing has issues with building the product.
  • Work with engineering, quality and SCM if facing parts quality issues.
  • Work with the engineering, quality teams and SCM to qualify (or disqualify) subcons. (Note: this is production related and not process related subcons. eg; cable assembly houses or other areas such that the subcons know AEM’s criteria).
  • Modify the BOMs if required to support the MRP process where subcons are involved to ensure material purchase integrity.
  • Work with the NPI teams to receive the product from NPI to HVM. Fan out the knowledge to the manufacturing team subsequently.
  • To perform and support additional tasks and projects assigned by superiors.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree OR Advanced Diploma in Process / Electrical & Electronics / Mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of work experience in Manufacturing Process Engineering and Automation involvement background.
  • Excellent analytical and math skills passion.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems.
  • Proficient with computer and information technology.
  • Knowledge of process engineering software systems.
  • Ability to persuade others to change existing practices.
  • Familiarity with applicable health and safety regulations.
  • May require working overtime on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and after normal working hours to support manufacturing production schedules when necessary.
