Data Scientist (Penang)

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist with a specialization in E-commerce. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analysing and interpreting complex data to drive strategic decisions and optimize online retail operations, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enhance customer experience and business performance.

Responsibilities:

1. Work with data science professionals in projects, designing, executing and evaluating experiments.
2. Define, communicate and drive data insights/innovation into the business.
3. Reporting and acting on changes and market trends.
4. Work with the team to design and architect the workflow of the data and algorithms including data input, output and storage within the e-commerce platform.
5. Work with the team to develop and deploy necessary AI models for in-house chatbot using ChatGPT prompt engineering.
6. Optimize data analysis processes and systems for better efficiency and maintenance.
7. Document clearly explaining how algorithms have been implemented, verified and validated.

Requirements:

1. Proficiency in data visualization, Python, SQL and experience with relational databases.
2. Practical experience with Big Data platforms and implementing solutions on cloud services like AWS.
3. Proven experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources, and machine learning algorithms.
4. Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) and AWS is preferred.
5. Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering Computer/Telecommunication, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics or related field. A Master’s Degree is highly desirable.
2. At least 2 years of experience in the related field.
