Job Overview:
As the Public Relations and Events Officer, you will play a pivotal role in managing GCH Retail’s public image and coordinating high-impact events that engage stakeholders, customers, and the media. You will develop PR strategies, foster media relations, and plan events that align with our brand values and business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute public relations strategies that enhance brand awareness and reputation across all GCH Retail brands.
• Plan, organize, and manage internal and external events such as press conferences, store openings, product launches, and corporate events.
• Cultivate strong relationships with media outlets, influencers, and key stakeholders.
• Create and distribute engaging press releases, media kits, newsletters, and other communication materials.
• Monitor media coverage, prepare PR reports, and analyze the effectiveness of PR campaigns.
• Serve as a spokesperson for the company when necessary and coordinate media interviews.
• Manage event logistics, budgets, and timelines to ensure flawless execution.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to integrate PR and event initiatives with broader marketing campaigns.
• Handle crisis communications and reputation management when needed.
• Support internal communications initiatives to enhance employee engagement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Event Management, Marketing, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in public relations and event management, preferably in the retail or FMCG sector.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Bahasa Malaysia proficiency is a plus).
• Strong understanding of the Malaysian media landscape and event management processes.
• Proven ability to organize large-scale events and manage logistics effectively.
• Experience in managing media relationships and handling PR crises.
• Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in social media management and digital communications is an advantage.
