Inspector API 2D Certified

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled and API 2D Certified Inspector to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with standards and best practices related to the inspection, maintenance, and operation of cranes and lifting equipment. Complemented by the ability to work collaboratively with UAV (drone) operators. This role combines traditional inspection methods with advanced drone technology to enhance efficiency, safety, and accuracy during inspections in challenging environments such as offshore platforms, drilling rigs and industrial sites.

Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

1. Conduct inspections, maintenance, and certifications of lifting equipment in compliance with API 2D standards.
2. Perform detailed inspections of cranes, rigging, and lifting gear to ensure safe operation and adherence to regulatory requirements.
3. Identify defects or issues and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
4. Prepare detailed inspection reports, including findings, recommendations, and certifications, as required.
5. Monitor and ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
6. Collaborate with UAV operators to plan and execute drone-assisted inspections of hard-to-access areas, including high cranes, confined spaces, and offshore equipment.
7. Review real-time UAV footage or data to identify and document equipment conditions, anomalies, or structural issues.
8. Review and use data from UAV imagery and photogrammetry data to complement traditional inspection methods.
9. Work closely with operations teams to ensure equipment readiness and reliability
10. Assist in UAV flight planning to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
    
11. Provide input on optimizing UAV utilization for inspections based on API 2D criteria.

Qualification and Skills:

1. API 2D Certification (mandatory).
2. Ability to adapt to advanced technology and work in diverse environments, including offshore or remote locations.
3. Proven experience in inspecting and certifying lifting equipment in industries such as oil and gas, construction, or heavy equipment.
4. Strong understanding of API 2D standards and related safety practices.
5. Knowledge of lifting equipment operation, design, and maintenance.
6. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Excellent communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating with team members.
9. Ability to work independently and in diverse environments, including remote or offshore locations.
