Research and Development Assistant

Job Responsibility

1. Assists R&D department in product development, sample preparation, testing, process and method improvement.
2. Record and analyse data from experiments, documenting results accurately in lab notebooks and/or digital databases.
3. Collaborate with R&D team members to troubleshoot issues and refine product formulations.
4. Assist in sensory evaluation sessions, collecting feedback from panellists.
5. Support the preparation of reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
6. Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes related to food science.
7. Conduct and monitor product shelf life and stability and record test results.
8. Perform routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
9. Maintain equipment, consumables and ingredients in the R&D lab in a safe and hygienic condition.
10. Organize and monitor lab apparatus and material inventory.
11. Maintain good laboratory practices, cleanliness, and tidiness.
12. Perform other ad-hoc duties & responsibilities that may be needed or assigned by superior from time to time.

Job Requirements

1. Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
2. Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related field.
3. Experience working in a lab environment/lab assistant role is welcome to apply.
4. Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.
5. Strong understanding of food chemistry, microbiology, and sensory evaluation is an added advantage.
6. Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment.
7. Independent with persuasive interpersonal skills and results-driven.
8. Computer literate and numerate.
9. Highly motivated, a self-starter, and eager to succeed.
10. Mature, independent, and fast learner.
11. Good written and verbal communication skills.
12. Good attitude and responsible character.
