About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Test Engineer to join our R&D Engineering Department and contribute to the development of cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) systems. In this role, you will ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of our UAV products through rigorous testing and validation processes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to identify issues, refine designs, and validate compliance with industry standards. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented problem-solver passionate about advancing UAV technology in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans for UAV hardware, software, and integrated systems (e.g., flight controllers, sensors, communication modules).
  2. Conduct lab-based, simulation, and field testing to evaluate performance under real-world conditions (e.g., endurance, environmental stress, payload capacity).
  3. Collaborate with design engineers to troubleshoot failures, identify root causes, and recommend design improvements.
  4. Document test results, generate detailed reports, and present findings to HOD.
  5. Maintain and calibrate testing equipment, including drones, sensors, and data acquisition systems.
  6. Stay updated on emerging UAV testing methodologies, tools, and industry trends.
  7. Support prototype iterations and pre-production validation to meet project milestones.

About You

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in aerospace, Mechatronics, Electric & Electronic, Software Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
  2. Relevant experience of at least 2 years and above.
  3. Piloting experience, along with the ability to build, assemble, and troubleshoot UAV-related products such as multirotor drones and fixed-wing UAVs, is an added advantage.
  4. Proficiency in testing methodologies (functional, regression, stress, and environmental testing).
  5. Hands-on experience with UAV components (e.g., propulsion systems, GNSS, IMUs, telemetry).
  6. Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., Ardupilot, PX4, MAVlink, and mission planner) and data analysis software.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  8. Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
  9. Ability to thrive in a dynamic R&D environment with shifting priorities.
