Detailed Description:
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Determine price/value.
- Negotiate products/services, terms, and conditions.
- Develop supplier relationships and performance.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies:
- Competitive benchmarking.
- Technology direction.
- Supplier analysis, development, and selection.
- Pricing strategy.
- Full product/service sourcing responsibility.
- Commodity Council Corporate negotiations.
- Customer Materials Commitment process (pricing/BOM analysis).
- Serve as primary contact for site/customer support.
- Quote and negotiate quarterly for products/services (regional/global).
- Conduct customer bids within response time objectives.
- Performance reviews.
- Interact and negotiate with senior executives of multinational companies.
- Support internal customers:
- Resolve quality, serviceability, and performance issues.
- Identify supply/demand and communicate distribution.
- Consolidate and escalate critical shortages.
- Resolve related issues.
- Provide product cost support for assigned geographies.
- Prepare bids:
- BOM generation.
- Cost analysis.
- Supplier negotiation.
- Management presentations.
- Maintain material price databases and analyze BOMs.
- Provide guidance to junior staff and site counterparts.
- Ensure process compliance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Engineering, or equivalent.
- 8-12 years of commodity management experience.
- Broad knowledge of market conditions (pricing, technology, supply/demand).
- Experience in contract negotiation, stocking programs, LT reduction, and supplier development.
- Proficiency in computer applications (ERP, office systems).
- Problem resolution and conflict management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- High integrity.
- Proactive approach and continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to work independently with responsibility and urgency.
- Strong desire to learn and embrace challenges.
