The Assistant Process Lead will provide support to the Line on the DDS & DMS and help to drive Hershey lean & continuous improvement culture.
Responsibilities:
Daily Direction Setting
Assist in executing and monitoring standards on the shop floor.
Ensure tracking and maintenance of loss data on the line to address top losses.
Assist the shop floor in the creation and revision of visual management systems as part of Daily Direction Setting.
Hershey Lean Pillar Implementation
Coordinate, verify data, and monitor CI projects for the manufacturing plant to achieve CI and CI pipeline delivery.
Support CI opportunities in the manufacturing plant through Gemba walks, develop process mapping, and train line techs on FI/Lean methodologies such as 5Y and RCA methods.
Collaborate to drive the FI pillar elements & programs – 5S, RCO, TTP, CI Ideation, CI Workshop, Loss Analysis, RCA, Problem Solving Tools, OEE/OEE2, etc.
Assist in developing standards for executing tasks on the line by collecting data for all respective lines to implement DMS, i.e., RCO & CL.
Assist in developing, managing, and monitoring equipment centerlines on the line.
Assist in structuring daily problem solving on the line.
Ensure data integrity and reporting of shift notes, production activities such as CIL (Cleaning Lubrication Inspection), and downtime are maintained and performed according to SOPs and guidelines.
Other Tasks
Support and provide guidance to shop floor personnel regarding the use and application of shop floor systems and CI/DMS activities.
Perform audits on DMS to ensure conformance to the DMS checklist and provide feedback; if necessary, advise on audit actions for gap closure.
Assist in supporting and executing trial runs in the absence of the Process/CI leads.
Perform any other tasks as instructed by a superior.
Set up basic configuration of AIM (Accessible Information for Manufacturing) for the shop floor.
Guide shop floor technicians on how to use AIM or any other Hershey Systems.
Perform basic configuration of easy DMS (Document Management System) to interface with AIM or other Hershey Systems.
Requirements:
Minimum Diploma in Engineering or related discipline.
3 – 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, as a process engineer, manufacturing engineer, or in a related position.
2 – 3 years of Lean experience in manufacturing is preferred.
