Job Summary
The Group Accountant will oversee and manage the financial operations of the group of companies, ensuring sound financial planning, risk management, reporting, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a highly skilled, detail-oriented professional to lead financial consolidation, analyze business performance, and provide critical insights to support executive decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Consolidate and manage group financial accounts.
- Review subsidiaries’ financial statements for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure timely submission of monthly financial reports to the Board.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and improvement areas.
- Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Monitor and track cash balances, payments, and short-term investments.
- Maintain oversight of bank accounts and ensure proper fund allocation.
- Send out automated debtor statements and oversee the monthly debt collection process.
Tax Planning & Optimization
- Optimize tax efficiency while ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Ensure timely submission of e-invoices and service tax reports.
Cost & Management Accounting
- Control and minimize costs while optimizing revenue-to-cost ratios.
- Support planning, cost control, and decision-making processes.
Performance Monitoring & Budgeting
- Develop and track KPI reports for financial performance monitoring.
- Prepare and manage budget forecasts to align with strategic goals.
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations, standards, and internal policies.
- Strengthen internal controls for accurate financial reporting.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with internal teams for financial data gathering and analysis.
- Present financial insights and recommendations to board and team leaders.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (recognised by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants).
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CTIM, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tax, accounting and/or auditing.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian financial regulations, tax laws, and MFRS.
- Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and business analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work closely with team leaders and directly report to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
