Executive, Technical Underwriter (Property & Engineering)

Responsible for providing technical support, quotation, underwriting and complying with company/group guidelines. Part of the Corporate Business Department (CBD) Technical team and reporting to the Head of Technical, CBD.

You'll be responsible for:

• Assess and underwrite new offers mainly for Property and Engineering Lines of Business (LOB).
• Underwrite and review all property renewals and new businesses using the Company pricing tools and monitor rate adequacy and rate change across the operational accounts.
• Work closely with the Supervisor(s) on all referrals and undertake all necessary preparatory work as guided and directed.
• Assist the Supervisor(s) in all initiatives to improve the profitability of the Property and Engineering portfolio.
• Client liaison with marketers on renewals, technical matters, and enquiries as deemed necessary.
• Manage the e-filing system and ensure that the policy documents are kept/filed systematically.

Important to your success:

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Insurance, Science, Engineering, Actuarial Science or related fields.
• Professional qualifications in insurance (AMII) are considered an advantage.
• Related industry knowledge and familiarity with insurance underwriting.
• Analytical with problem-solving skills.
