Facility Lead (Malaysia)

Job Description

This position is for K2 Data Centres, a company under Kuok (Singapore) Limited, based in Johor, Malaysia.

Purpose Of The Role
K2 is seeking a Facility Lead to provide leadership and management support of an operational Critical environment shift team providing 24/7/365 on-site support of a production data centre facility. The Facility Lead is responsible for emergency response and maintenance of critical services within the data center environment. The Facility Lead reports to the Operations Manager and leads the supervision of the FOC and the shift during his working day.

Responsibilities

1. Lead, manage and be responsible for the designated shift team, ensuring the successful operation, maintenance and repair of all critical environment systems while maintaining 100% uptime to all critical power systems on site at all times.
2. Plan the shift team's work activities on a daily basis ensuring all aspects of the shift & facility are covered & monitored during your day. Prepare paperwork associated with planned maintenance visits of vendors based on the main sub-contractor schedule for each contract year.
3. Prioritize and assign PPM’s /TT’s planned & unplanned work orders to your shift Data Center Specialists to achieve & maintain 100% compliance every month.
4. Adhere to all quality, health & safety, and environmental policies within the domain.
5. Coordinate ongoing maintenance and activities within the Data Centre for your shift team, prioritizing these activities in conjunction with the Critical Maintenance Manager.
6. Ensure all subcontractors are inducted and permitted to work within the domain prior to issuing permits to work.
7. Review subcontractor method statements, risk assessments, and MSDS to ensure compliance with site health & safety and operating procedures prior to issuing permits to work.
8. Monitor and man the FOC at all times and respond to EPMS, BMS, and Fire Systems alarms in a timely manner.
9. Ensure completion of all your shift team’s scheduled PMs and ensure timely execution of scheduled PMs by all your shift Data Centre Specialists.
10. Update and log all activities/time on CAFM, ensuring your shift team does the same.
11. Issue a daily Shift Handover report detailing activities and issues that require escalation.
12. Wear K2’s provided clothing and appropriate PPE at all times.
13. Drive your shift team to achieve acceptable scores on the team KPI Scorecard as located on CAFM.
14. Provide input into and develop site specific procedures including EOPs, SOPs, MOPs, Aps and EOP Drills as issued by Management.
15. Be fully conversant with the site Emergency Response Plan and cooperate with the SOC/FOC during site emergencies.
16. Report health and safety breaches and concerns to your manager as soon as possible.
17. Complete a minimum of 4 drills per month.
18. Escort and supervise/monitor work of third-party engineers and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with site standards.
19. Develop a good working relationship with all members of K2’s staff and the Customer representatives.
20. Carry out Toolbox talks once every shift rotation to achieve & exceed your shift teams monthly target.
21. Ensure the professional image of K2 is presented to clients and visitors at all times while on site.
22. Adhere to all K2’s quality, health & safety, and environmental policies and documentation requirements while performing work.
23. Undertake other tasks as defined and requested by local management.
24. Be flexible in your working patterns to support requirements dictated by the rhythm of the business & operational demands.

Skills Set And Qualifications Requirements

1. Minimum 5-10 years of working experience in a Data Centre environment preferably.
2. Strong knowledge and experience in the data centre industry, including development and management of data centres.
3. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills.
4. Excellent verbal and written communications skills both in English and Bahasa Malay language.
5. Excellent project, planning, change and time management capabilities.
6. Good judgement and decision making skills.
7. Leadership and supervisory skills.
8. Strong organisational skills.
9. Ability to use computer applications effectively.
