About Our Client

Our client is leading FMCG company in the market and they are in search of a buyer to manage the packaging category for the Malaysia market.

Job Description

  1. Sourcing and Procurement:
  • Identify and source products and services locally based on the company's needs.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services, meeting quality and budget requirements.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery terms.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers.
    • Monitor supplier performance, ensuring adherence to contracts and quality standards.
    • Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Inventory and Cost Management:
    • Maintain and monitor stock levels of purchased goods to avoid shortages or overstock.
    • Work closely with the warehouse and production teams to ensure materials meet demand forecasts.
    • Control and track procurement costs to align with budget targets.
  • Order Management and Documentation:
    • Process purchase orders accurately and ensure they are completed on time.
    • Maintain records of all procurement transactions, including contracts, invoices, and payment schedules.
    • Ensure proper documentation for auditing and compliance purposes.
  • Quality Control:
    • Coordinate with the quality assurance team to ensure purchased items meet the company's quality standards.
    • Address any quality issues with suppliers and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Collaboration and Support:
    • Work closely with the internal teams (e.g., production, logistics) to align procurement with operational needs.
    • Support the procurement team in developing strategies to optimize the supply chain process.

    The Successful Applicant

    Job Requirements:

    • Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • 2-3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in packaging or the food manufacturing industry
    • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Knowledge of local suppliers and food packaging standards is an advantage
    • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
