Job description

To support and contribute to the delivery and growth of Control Risks’ Security Design Practice across Asia Pacific (APAC), the role will involve working on various security design-led projects across the region by providing support to Control Risks’ design team with the design deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to identifying new opportunities, developing proposals and presenting to prospective clients and stakeholders.
  2. Develop project plans and travel to client sites and offices where appropriate.
  3. Attend weekly meetings with project stakeholders, be very attentive to details, and minute all actions related to our discipline.
  4. Deliver security design consultancy assignments ranging from simple to complex tasks.
  5. Draft design stage documents such as technical specification documents, power loads calculation, tender evaluation reports, etc.
  6. Keep abreast with advances in security technology.
  7. Complete assigned tasks within the given time frames.
  8. Attend onsite inspections and testing & commissioning.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a security design professional or in a related field.
  2. Capable of working with CAD 2D to a level that can deliver design layouts that match our internal standards.
  3. A sound understanding of the design engineering elements.
  4. Proven track record of successful security design consultancy projects, preferably within Asia or a similar environment.
  5. A good understanding of all project design stages referred to as RIBA design stages, such as Conceptual Design, Developed Design, Technical Design, etc.
  6. Good knowledge and experience in the design and implementation of integrated electronic security systems and physical security measures such as:
    1. Video surveillance systems.
    2. Access control systems.
    3. Intruder detection systems.
    4. Intercommunications systems.
    5. Security fences, gates, barriers, locking systems, secure rooms.
  7. Working knowledge in the design of local security equipment rooms, main security equipment rooms, and control rooms.
  8. A good understanding of how to build a dedicated secure security network with considerations on network bandwidth and cybersecurity requirements.
  9. Good knowledge and understanding of well-known security management systems (i.e., Genetec, Gallagher, and the likes).
  10. Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.
  11. Demonstrable experience in applying risk management methodology such as (ISO 22301, ISO31000, SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.).

Qualifications and Specialist Skills:

Essential:

  1. An Engineering degree in electronics and electrical engineering / communications is preferred.
  2. Strong communication skills – written and oral (informal and presentation to board level).
  3. Good skills in working with project management tools (i.e., Microsoft Project or Primavera).
  4. Strong commercial expertise, analytical (financial management, legal and contractual skills), leadership.
  5. Good client (internal and external) management and consulting skills.
  6. Effective decision-making and judgment.
  7. Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  8. Assertiveness and drive with strong influencing skills.
  9. Strong interpersonal skills-building trust and rapport.
  10. IT literacy – MS Office packages, advanced Excel.
