Job description

The position encompasses two primary areas of responsibility. The first pertains to the Vendor Management in South East Asia Region while the second is specialized in the coordination of sourcing projects and support new product development activities within South East Asia OEM/ODM area. As OEM/ODM Category Manager within Strategic Sourcing, the role carries the overarching responsibility of creating, maintaining, and enhancing inbound supply chain. This involves a continuous focus on monitoring and enhancing Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance of the supply base, combined with maintaining best-in-industry financial metrics such as Working Capital, Payment Terms, and Inventory values. It also includes ensuring that all spending is covered by written agreements.

Additionally, the role involves supporting medium to long-term OEM/ODM developments to align with Nilfisk's overall business strategies and service objectives. Proactively seeking out new technology solutions and collaborating with Research and Development (R&D) and Product Management teams to explore and discuss these innovations is also a key aspect of this role.

The Category Manager is responsible for establishing and managing a robust Pipeline, which includes elements such as Negotiation, Resourcing, Optimization, and Value Analysis and Engineering (VAVE) in collaboration with OEM/ODM partners and Nilfisk relevant functions. In daily operations, the Sourcing Project Manager executes the Project Pipeline. Within this collaboration, the person is primarily accountable for Negotiation and Optimization activities, which are mainly commercially oriented, while handling Resourcing and VAVE projects, which involve more technology-related aspects.

The ideal candidate is expected to proactively identify new business opportunities and cost-saving initiatives, demonstrating a strong drive and the ability to anticipate market trends. They should also inspire, motivate, and mobilize stakeholders connected to their area of responsibility. As SPM, the candidate will:

  1. Drive re-/in-/out-source, cost out projects in liaison with project team (R&D, Category Management, Quality, Production etc.).
  2. Identify the potential risks and take the necessary actions to reach the project KPIs (saving/machine price; time; cost).
  3. Meet relevant standards for price, quality, timing and reliability of supply (Project Management).
  4. Plan, direct and track all Sourcing activities in relation to new product development (NPD projects) and hold commercial responsibility for own product development projects (direct material and investments in tools).
