Job description

The Purchasing Executive is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and procurement of goods and services to meet the organization's needs. This role involves strategic sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiation, and cost reduction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sourcing and Procurement:
    1. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery time.
    2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
    3. Negotiate favorable contracts with suppliers.
    4. Issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
    5. Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  2. Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues promptly.
  3. Develop and implement supplier performance metrics.
  4. Conduct regular supplier reviews and audits.
  5. Inventory Management:
    1. Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock levels.
    2. Implement inventory control systems and procedures.
    3. Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure efficient inventory management.
  6. Cost Reduction:
    1. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce procurement costs.
    2. Negotiate better pricing and terms with suppliers.
    3. Explore alternative sourcing options to minimize costs.
  7. Administrative Tasks:
    1. Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and contracts.
    2. Prepare reports on procurement activities and performance metrics.
    3. Assist with other procurement-related tasks as required.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  2. 2-3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
  3. Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  5. Knowledge of procurement systems and software.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Attention to detail and accuracy.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
