Job description

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Static/HVAC Inspector to oversee and ensure the quality and compliance of mechanical static equipment and HVAC systems. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of performance, safety, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, verify, and assess the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical static equipment (e.g., pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks) and HVAC systems.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards for mechanical static and HVAC equipment.
  • Monitor and evaluate welding, piping, and mechanical assembly processes to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).
  • Conduct inspections and tests on HVAC systems, including ductwork, chillers, air handling units, and ventilation systems, to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, including non-conformance reports (NCRs), and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, contractors, and quality control teams to address any identified issues.
  • Verify and ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry codes, and client requirements.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and pre-commissioning inspections.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of inspection activities and results.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in inspecting mechanical static equipment and HVAC systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards such as ASME, API, ISO, and SMACNA.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and static equipment inspection techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Certification in inspection (e.g., API 510, 570, or HVAC-related certifications) is preferred.
