Job description

Developing and executing global sourcing strategies that ensure a reliable supply of materials, aligned with cost, quality, and sustainability objectives. This role requires collaboration with international suppliers and cross-functional teams to drive material availability, cost-efficiency, and long-term supplier partnerships. Play a critical role in optimizing supply chain operations and maintaining the company's competitive edge in the global market.

Responsibilities include:

Planning and execution

  • Develop and implement a global sourcing strategy to secure high-quality materials at competitive prices while mitigating risks associated with supply chain disruption.
  • Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with international suppliers, negotiating contracts to secure long-term partnerships and favorable terms.
  • Ensure all sourced materials meet the company's quality standards and adhere to regulatory and industry compliance, especially for international markets.
  • Conduct thorough market research and trend analysis to stay ahead of material cost fluctuations and supply risks. Identify alternative materials or suppliers as needed.
  • Work closely with internal team, including NPI, engineering, and sales teams, to ensure material needs are met efficiently and aligned with company objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain by maintaining multiple supplier options and ensuring contingencies are in place for critical materials.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives in the supply chain by selecting environmentally responsible suppliers and materials, in line with company sustainability goals.
  • Leverage advanced procurement technologies and data analytics to enhance sourcing decisions and streamline material procurement processes.

Mid-to-long term strategic planning (if applicable)

  • Collaborate with senior management to create and execute mid-to-long term strategic plans for material sourcing. Forecast future needs, evaluate evolving market trends, and proactively adjust sourcing strategies to support the company’s long-term goals, including expansion into new markets and product lines.

To be successful in the role, you should possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Logistics or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a sourcing or procurement role, with specific experience in supplier negotiations, and contract management.
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining strategic, long-term relationships with suppliers.
  • Ability to analyze costs and financial data to optimize material purchases, reduce spending, and improve financial performance.
  • Skilled in identifying and managing risks in the supply chain, making informed decisions to ensure business continuity and minimize disruptions.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin is a must as you will be working closely with our China counterparts.
