Head of Procurement (Asia Pacific)

Role & Responsibilities:

• Built and lead Procurement Region Asia/Pacific consisting of several Country Procurement functions with a strong mandate to manage it on a regional basis.
• Develop and manage effectively the regional Procurement teams and promote cross-country teamwork; responsible for the Procurement site in Penang.
• Ensure the development of profound knowledge of relevant supply markets.
• Identify, qualify, evaluate and develop best-in-class suppliers for the region and maintain professional relationships.
• Guarantee knowledge of most important current and future strategies and demands of internal stakeholders in the region.
• Make sure that business-effective sourcing strategies are developed and implemented that add value to B. Braun.
• Pool purchases and negotiate annual commodity agreements as well as top projects and include other locations of the region as appropriate and ensure supply continuity.
• Decide on the most efficient coordination level for Corporate Procurement initiatives (regional, country) in alignment with CPO.
• Ensure attractive sourcing projects to generate important savings and non-monetary benefits.
• Promote performance excellence and professionalism within the regions Procurement functions and ensure continuous update of the organization compared to best-in-class practices.
• Guarantee transparency for all Procurement relevant data for the region.
• Develop, improve and deploy uniform best practice processes, tools and techniques in the region in strong collaboration with Global Procurement Services in Headquarters.

Professional Competencies:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Proven experience (5-10 years) within production procurement/category Management within APAC
• Experience of direct and indirect procurement, procurement excellence
• Experience as a People leader, managing a large team
• Knowledge of the whole supply chain (all the various inter-dependencies for procurement)
• Knowledge of sustainability procurement would be an added advantage.
