Manage audit engagements from planning through to completion, including financial audits, compliance audits, and other special assignments.
Supervise and mentor junior auditors and audit assistants, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients, providing them with valuable insights on financial and accounting matters.
Review and analyze audit work papers, financial statements, and tax returns prepared by the team to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
Offer technical expertise on complex audit issues, regulatory requirements, and accounting principles.
Draft and present audit reports, highlighting key findings and offering recommendations for improvements or corrective actions.
Ensure that all audits are performed in compliance with auditing standards, internal policies, and applicable regulations.
Assist in identifying opportunities to expand services with existing clients and support the firm in attracting new clients.
Stay up to date with new regulations, accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, MFRS), and audit methodologies to ensure the firm's audit processes are current.
Requirements:
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or MICPA are often required.
5-10 years of experience in auditing or accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Strong understanding of auditing standards (e.g., MFRS, IFRS), tax laws, financial regulations, and internal controls.
Proficiency in accounting and auditing software (e.g., SAP, Caseware, Excel). Knowledge of accounting systems and software is often required.
Proven experience in managing and mentoring audit teams. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and provide clear audit reports and recommendations.
Ability to develop strong relationships with clients and be a trusted advisor on audit and financial matters.
Ability to manage multiple audit engagements simultaneously, meeting deadlines and managing resources efficiently.
High ethical standards, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
