Special Needs Kindergarten Teacher

About the role

Capers Early Intervention Montessori is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Needs Kindergarten Teacher to join our team in Kota Damansara, Selangor. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional education and support to children with special needs in our special needs kindergarten.

What you'll be doing

• EIM Program: Teach small groups of preschool students (1:3 teacher-student ratio) in both classroom and outdoor learning settings.
• EIP Program: Conduct 1:1 ABA therapy sessions tailored to individual student needs.
• Plan and prepare individualised education plans to address the unique needs of each student.
• Plan and prepare engaging lesson materials based on student learning goals.
• Utilise specialised teaching methods and strategies to foster the academic, social, and emotional growth of students.
• Collaborate with parents, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each child's development.
• Maintain detailed records and monitor the progress of students.
• Foster a nurturing classroom environment that celebrates diversity.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress.
• Participate in experiential learning activities, including community trips, school events, concerts, and sports day.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to the development of students’ individualized education plans.
• Attend parent-teacher meetings, which will be held on a Saturday at the end of each term.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and school-provided training sessions.

What we're looking for

• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply!
• A bachelor's degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
• Experience in teaching in a special needs or inclusive kindergarten setting would be a bonus.
• Strong knowledge of child development, behaviour management techniques, and evidence-based teaching strategies for students with special needs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with parents, therapists, and other professionals.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children with special needs.
