Summary

Detailed Description

Perform tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Works to ensure import/export/domestic shipments and documentation are in compliance with applicable customs law.
• Acts as a liaison with customs offices. Collects and analyses logistics data for trends and potential cost savings.
• Evaluates and selects carriers for shipment of product. Analyses freight data for internal and external charges.
• Interfaces with customers to identify billing information.
• Responsible for the development and reengineering of processes related to border crossings.
• Provides leadership, expertise, guidance and training to the supply chain, commodity, procurement and program management functions, ensuring that the latest logistics practices and procedures are followed & complied.
• Interfaces with various levels of Celestica management to ensure processes are in place and working such that we maintain compliance with Logistics processes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Good knowledge of an electronics manufacturing environment, material and processes.
• Expert understanding and interpretation of traffic and customs rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of basic computer applications such as WORD, Excel, PowerPoint and multiple business applications.
• Good understanding of internal and external customer requirements.
• Good financial, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to identify and resolve high complexity process/system problems using financial, analytical, and/or statistical models.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines.
• Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Typical Experience

• Three to six years of relevant experience.

Typical Education

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Educational requirements may vary by geography.
