DTP Artist

About the role

We're seeking a talented DTP Artist to join our team at Local Publications (M) Sdn Bhd. As a DTP Artist, you're responsible for creating and preparing high-quality digital and print layouts, often involving tasks like designing page layouts, editing visuals, and collaborating with designers and marketing teams. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Bandar Puteri Puchong, Selangor.

What you'll be doing

1. Plan and present a publishing plan when required.
2. Manage prepress/production resources to support frontlist publishing; forecasting, scheduling, workflow of both internal and external resources.
3. Consult with editors.
4. Handle all desktop publishing, artwork/graphic design, page layout, typesetting, and finished artwork production.
5. Establish product/project specifications and ensure the quality of work in all assigned tasks.
6. Track and monitor the progress of the project(s) and tasks assigned, ensuring deadlines are met.
7. Maintain a pleasant attitude, focus on details, and stay well organized.
8. Exhibit excellent time management skills and be willing to work long hours if needed.

What we're looking for

1. Possess a minimum Diploma or above.
2. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
3. Experience in the Publishing Industry will be an advantage.
4. Able to converse in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia will be an added advantage.
5. Proficient in operating Adobe software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).
6. Strong communication and negotiation skills.
7. Supervisory and management experience will be an added advantage.
