Drone Operator

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Drone Operator to join our team at Woodman Sdn. Bhd. This full-time role is based in Miri, Sarawak and will involve operating and maintaining drone technology for our surveying operations in oil palm industries.

What you'll be doing

1. Operate and maintain drones for mapping, surveying, and monitoring oil palm plantations.
2. Plan and execute drone flight missions, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
3. Process drone imagery using photogrammetry software (e.g., Pix4D, Agisoft) to generate orthomosaics, DSMs, and 3D models.
4. Analyze spatial data using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) to support decision-making processes.
5. Collaborate with the plantation management team to provide actionable insights based on drone and GIS data.
6. Ensure compliance with all local regulations and safety guidelines related to drone operations.
7. Troubleshoot technical issues related to drones and associated software.

What we're looking for

1. Experience in drone operations (e.g., DJI Phantom 4 RTK) and GIS applications in agriculture.
2. Knowledge of photogrammetry and spatial data analysis.
3. Proficient in drone technology, flight planning, data processing, and troubleshooting operational issues.
4. Familiarity with the oil palm industry is an advantage.
5. Certification in drone operations/GIS and a valid driver’s license preferred.
