ExxonMobil in MalaysiaIn Malaysia, we are involved in oil and gas production operations and the marketing of chemical products. We also host a global business and technology center in Kuala Lumpur that provides high-level information technology and engineering expertise to ExxonMobil's upstream, downstream and chemical businesses worldwide.

You will be an integral part of our process engineering team providing deep technical insights into a specific process engineering technology area (i.e. Crude Distillation Process) and provide support to ExxonMobil manufacturing facilities globally.
Currently, we have an opportunity for an experienced Distillation Specialist to join our Kuala Lumpur Technology Center team. The position is based in Kuala Lumpur, and you will be working very closely with our global process engineering team and manufacturing sites' teams.
What you will doIf successful, your key deliverables will include:
- Provide active technical leadership in the company in the Crude Distillation area
- Improve capability of the organization in Distillation Technology by mentoring, reviewing technical work, developing and delivering technical training
- Evaluate, develop and deploy technologies within area of expertise to deliver value to the business
- Provide process engineering technical leadership and support to operating sites on unit operation, optimization and troubleshooting
- Function as process technology technical lead for capital project development from screening phase up to unit startup
- Support installation, commissioning and startup of grassroot or revamped facilities
- Lead or provide guidance on process modelling development, sustainment and development
- Collaborate with 3rd party to develop, design, manufacture, test and deploy technologies or equipment
About youSkills and QualificationsTo be eligible for this role, you must have:
- At least a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
- 10-15 years of work experience in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical or Refining Industry
- Minimum 10 years of work specialization on Crude and Vacuum Distillation Units, Amine/Sour Water System for Downstream Oil refining industry
- Proficient in the following areas of Distillation Units:
- Unit operation, troubleshooting and optimization
- Process Modelling / Simulation
- Tower/Drum Internals Selection
- Process development and equipment design, including design of drum/tower internals
- Project development from early screening phase, through lead case selection, detailed engineering, up to unit startup and commissioning
- New technology evaluation, development and deployment
- Turnaround support which includes tower/drum inspection and startup
- Able to demonstrate the following skills:
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills, especially in multi-cultural global teams
- Strategic thinking and able to develop creative fit for purpose solutions to resolve operational problems
- Ability to influence and promote change to achieve desired results with no or minimal direct authority
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed for business reasons. Expect about 10% of time required for travel
