Director of Research & Development (Manufacturing Automation)

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the research and development of new manufacturing automation technologies and solutions to improve efficiency, productivity and quality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop and implement innovative manufacturing systems and processes
• Oversee the testing, evaluation and continuous improvement of existing automation technologies and workflows
• Identify and evaluate emerging trends, technologies and best practices in manufacturing automation
• Provide strategic guidance and technical expertise to senior management on automation-related initiatives
• Manage a team of talented engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of creativity and continuous learning
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, safety standards and quality control measures

Requirements

• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in a senior R&D or engineering management role within the manufacturing industry
• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing automation technologies, including robotics, vision systems, and process control
• Proven track record of leading successful automation projects from concept to implementation
• Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and competing priorities
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and decision-making abilities
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with stakeholders at all levels
