Objectives of the Position

The Regional Digital Excellence Lead

  • Drives digitalization for our agricultural solutions business across the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Leads the Digital Excellence Team in Asia Pacific, including regional digital product owners and data scientists as well as the digital excellence community that additionally includes country digital leads, and global IT resources for portfolio steering, data governance and AgroStart.
  • Is accountable for developing and maintaining a connected ecosystem of digital products to provide state-of-the-art digital touchpoints for our customers as well as digital tools for our internal teams.
  • Drives the transformation of our business to a data-driven organization.
  • Works closely with leadership of IT (Digital Factory) and country commercial and digital excellence leadership to prioritize business needs and efficient delivery of solutions.
  • Drives digital innovation by integrating new technologies like AI and supporting new business models and startup collaborations through AgroStart.

Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities

  • Lead and manage a diverse team of product owners, data scientists. Lead the digital excellence community in Asia Pacific including, country digital leads and global IT resources.
  • Support the regional digital officer in the development of the digital strategy and roadmaps for Asia Pacific in partnership with business and market teams. Lead the implementation of the digital strategies and roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with the regional digital product family manager to develop a coherent ecosystem of digital tools for Asia Pacific, ensuring seamless integration with global solutions.
  • Maximize value creation from data by supporting data governance with creating a sustainable data foundation and working with data scientists to extract value. Embed data science activities within business teams to identify promising value cases and ensure swift user adoption.
  • Accountable to country teams that digital solutions are delivered in a professional and timely manner in close collaboration with the Digital Factory.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Digital Officer to ensure support from regional and global leadership.
  • Anchor a “value mindset” around digital solutions by supporting business case development and tracking KPIs.
  • Anchor customer journey and business process-based development of digital solutions in the Asia Pacific digital community. Collaborate closely with regional Customer Experience and Commercial Effectiveness Leads.
  • Steer AgroStart (internal start-up accelerator program) supported by global resources and leads for key markets China and India.
  • Foster a culture of digital transformation through programs for education, experimentation, and skill development.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree is preferred.

Working Experience

  • 5 years of operative experience in a commercial role, preferably in sales and/or marketing.
  • Proven experience leading digital transformation initiatives, preferably in the agricultural or related industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to inspire and motivate a diverse team.

Technical & Professional Knowledge

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital technologies, data analytics, and IT infrastructure.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong business acumen and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in Agile Methodologies preferred.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required; additional languages such as Mandarin, Japanese, or Hindi are a plus.
