Objectives of the position: Development and Support (DevOps) of Project “New Planning Landscape”, Integration & Interfaces Squad to understand and challenge the functional requirements and implement them in SAP environments as well as cloud-based environments while working in an agile way within a virtual global team.

Responsibilities

• Understand the current implementation of SCM developments within SAP APO and SAP ERP.
• Shape BASF’s future planning landscape by moving existing planning processes into cloud-based planning tools by building sustainable interfaces.
• Develop, maintain & monitor interfaces for different on-premise and cloud integration scenarios.
• Evaluate new requirements in close collaboration with other teams (e.g. SAP Basis, Cyber Security).
• Bring in new ideas/solutions while focusing on existing code’s quality (refactoring, restructuring & optimizing).
• Live end-to-end responsibility, being able to adapt to new requirements and learn new technologies within a virtual global agile team (Scrum).

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, informatics, business informatics, or in a comparable field.
• Proficient in at least one programming language: Python, R, C#, etc.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Good knowledge & understanding of cloud-based solutions and integration scenarios connecting via Middleware (e.g. Kafka, SAP CPI, SAP PI/PO).
• Knowledge related to Web Services (REST, SOAP), Streaming technologies (Kafka), and/or API development.
• Good understanding of security implications when setting up cloud solutions.
• Openness to new trends and innovative solutions.
• SAP ABAP (OO) (Nice to have).
• Supply Chain Planning process knowledge.
• Automated Testing.
• Version Management (Git).
• Basic understanding of Data Modeling / Data Science & Databases.
• Experience with using Web services in SAP environments (Proxy, Web service, OData, etc.) & SAP CPI.
