Design & Technology and ICT Teacher (Expat)

Job Overview

UCSI Schools is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Design & Technology and ICT Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching both Design & Technology (D&T) and Information & Communication Technology (ICT), fostering creativity, problem-solving skills, and digital literacy among students.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plan and deliver engaging and hands-on lessons in Design & Technology and ICT based on the curriculum.
2. Teach students how to use digital tools, software, coding languages, and emerging technologies.
3. Guide students in design thinking, engineering concepts, and prototyping, using tools like CAD software and 3D printing.
4. Foster problem-solving, innovation, and critical thinking skills through project-based learning.
5. Introduce students to robotics, programming, and cybersecurity where applicable.
6. Assess student progress through practical projects, assignments, and exams, providing constructive feedback.
7. Encourage collaborative learning through group projects and interdisciplinary activities.
8. Ensure a safe and well-managed classroom environment, especially when handling tools and technology.
9. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students’ progress and development.
10. Participate in school activities, extracurricular clubs, and technology/design competitions.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Design & Technology, ICT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent).
3. Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in Design & Technology and/or ICT.
4. Experience teaching the Cambridge curriculum (preferred but not mandatory).
5. Strong technical and digital skills, including knowledge of coding, robotics, CAD software, and design technology tools.
6. Passion for innovation, creativity, and hands-on learning.
7. Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
