Design Manager

About the role

As a Design Manager with Simfur Design Sdn Bhd, you will be responsible for leading a team of talented designers to deliver exceptional and innovative design solutions for our clients. In this full-time, office-based role, you will be based on Penang Island, Penang.

What you'll be doing

• Providing strategic direction and guidance to the design team to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest standards.
• Overseeing the design process from concept to completion, ensuring all design work aligns with the client's requirements and brand guidelines.
• Collaborating with clients, project managers and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into effective design solutions.
• Mentoring and developing the design team, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Staying up-to-date with the latest design trends, techniques and technologies to ensure the company remains at the forefront of the industry.
• Managing project budgets and timelines to ensure the efficient and profitable delivery of all design projects.

What we're looking for

• Substantial experience (8+ years) in a similar design management role, preferably within the architecture industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders and the design team.
• Outstanding problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
• Proven experience in project management, budgeting and resource allocation.
• A degree in architecture, design or a related field.
