The Opportunity:

Join our team as a Design Engineer, specializing in Substation Control and Protection Systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of projects from design through to site commissioning. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing design solutions that meet contract specifications and schedule commitments.
• Ensuring adherence to company procedures and quality standards.
• Upholding health, safety, and environmental requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

How you’ll make an impact

• You will be involved in high voltage protection and control system engineering design including schematics preparation, review of engineering documents, protection relay configuration, testing commissioning/troubleshooting. Knowledge of substation primary equipment & basic protection functions is desirable.
• You will be responsible for substation automation systems; Remote Terminal Unit (RTU), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), and Gateways will be a key differentiator, conversant with design tools E3, AutoCAD or equivalent for substation layouts, cable schedules, wiring, and termination charts.
• You will act as the champion for Hitachi Energy process and policies, contribute to the development of standard processes and work instructions by adopting Hitachi internal as well as industry best practices.
• You will ensure lessons learned from all execution are analyzed and conclusions are incorporated as continuous improvement actions.
• You will promote and enforce a safe working environment by supporting adequate HSE measures in all activities undertaken by yourself & the team, following ethics and compliance as per company guidelines.

Your background:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering major in Electrical or Automation Control or similar field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Hands-on experience in Control and Relay Panel design.
• Power system, substation, and MV/HV switchgear knowledge is an advantage.
• Proven ability to handle customer comments and approval responses to support the project manager in project engineering is a must.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English is mandatory.
• Experience in AutoCAD & E3 software.
