The Deputy Manager, Performance & Rewards plays a pivotal role in supporting the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the organisation’s reward strategies and performance management framework. This role serves as a key change agent in shaping fair, competitive, and performance-driven compensation and benefit programs aligned with corporate goals and HR best practices.

Key Accountabilities:

Total Remuneration Management

  1. Collate data, prepare and submit for remuneration survey participation.
  2. Extract market report and analyze data for recommendation / implementation.
  3. Draft recommendation for management approval.
  4. Co-own new initiatives / implementation of newly introduced policies and remuneration and benefit items.
  5. Conduct job evaluations and market surveys to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
  6. Monthly payroll processing.
  7. Regular monitoring on the employee movement.
  8. Consistent and accurate deduction.
  9. Check and review payroll data (check vendor data vs original source).
  10. Check accurateness and amend discrepancy.

Staff Promotion and Salary adjustment exercise

Annual salary increments & bonus

  1. Gather final performance assessment input from line managers on time for processing.
  2. Assist in finalizing according to Annual Incentive Bonus (AIB) plan and execute for payout.

Benefits Management

  1. Update the TDE fund price in Shareworks and PruEmpire website daily and the staff TDE purchased units in Shareworks.
  2. Prepare monthly deduction & contribution report to HR payroll personnel and Finance respectively for salary deduction and purchase of TDE fund.
  3. Provide support to staff on enrolment, change of contribution and withdrawal etc.

Performance Management Execution

  1. Draft and send out employee communication for KPI planning, mid-term review and year-end review.
  2. Follow up submission of performance result, analyze or prepare reports for management action.
  3. Participate in any improvement to the process and system related to performance management.
  4. Conduct training, briefing and roadshow to create awareness on performance management and system enhancements.
  5. Liaise with other departments in HR for staff performance improvement initiatives.

Policy & SOP Management / HR Projects Strategic Initiatives

  1. Prepare draft update for related SOP/manual.
  2. Periodic maintenance of the Employee Handbook and an initiative to revisit the relevance of benefits offered.
  3. Perform periodic reconciliation on reward transactions and ensure system, data accuracy, and conformity to policies and related laws.
  4. Provide HR initiative/project support as and when required, such as the strategic workforce planning (SWP) initiative, analytics and insights on medical costs, and support the superior in designing a sustainable approach to the medical cost containment initiative.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.

At least 6 years of working experience, with minimum 4 years in Compensation & Benefits and Performance Management.

Prior experience in multinational or matrix organisations is an advantage.

Technical skills:

  1. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  2. Familiarity with HRIS, compensation tools (e.g., Mercer WIN, WTW).
  3. Exposure to data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau (added advantage).
  4. Strategic thinking: Ability to link rewards programs to business outcomes.
  5. Analytical Rigor: Expertise in interpreting compensation surveys and data analytics.
  6. Good problem-solving skills: Evaluate logical connections between data and reports.
  7. Ability to execute independently with a strong attention to details.
  8. Can do attitude with a growth mindset.
