Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team. This strategic role involves overseeing all aspects of the Group's financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, financial management, taxation, and risk management. The CFO will work closely with senior management to drive the Group’s profitability and corporate objectives, ensuring financial integrity and compliance while supporting strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial management, a strong background in public listed companies or financial institutions, and excellent leadership and communication skills.

Job Description

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee the production of accurate and relevant financial statements and analyses.
  • Manage the preparation of annual financial reports and communicate financial information effectively to the board.
  • Ensure the integrity of systems, structures, and internal controls within the finance department.

Financial Management & Controllership

  • Collaborate with senior executive management to achieve corporate goals and business profitability, with full P&L responsibility.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with credit providers to ensure sustainable financial support.
  • Proactively manage the Group’s financial affairs, balance sheets, and associated financial risks, including:-
  • Optimizing capital structure and ensuring adequate debt facilities.
  • Efficient management of AR & AP.
  • Overseeing fixed asset management and inter/intra-group transactions.
  • Assessing fair value, impairment testing, provisions, and contingencies.
  • Managing liquidity, credit, forex, and interest rate risks.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial covenants and statutory regulations.

Transactions & Processes

  • Implement and monitor internal controls and policies to ensure efficiency and integrity in daily operations.
  • Assess and support new investments, mergers, and acquisitions.

Taxation

  • Ensure compliance with all tax obligations and identify opportunities for tax optimization.

Other Value-Added Activities

  • Participate in corporate finance activities such as restructuring, fundraising, and corporate governance initiatives.
  • Support strategic initiatives that contribute to the Group’s long-term growth and sustainability.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by senior management.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in a senior financial leadership role (CFO, Finance Officer, etc.), preferably with a background in Big-4 Accounting firms or financial institutions of public listed companies.
  • Member of the Malaysia Institute of Accountants (MIA); CPA certification is an added advantage.
  • Strong leadership, multitasking, and service-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data-driven insights into actionable business recommendations.
