About the role

We are seeking a talented Demi Chef to join our dynamic team at ASIA PACIFIC PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SDN. BHD. This is a full-time position based in Kuching, Sarawak. As a Demi Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef and the wider kitchen team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality culinary experiences for our guests.

What you'll be doing

• Assist the Head Chef in the preparation and cooking of a wide range of dishes, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new menu items, focusing on innovative techniques and flavour combinations.
• Maintain a clean, organised and efficient work environment in the kitchen, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
• Provide training and guidance to junior kitchen staff, sharing your expertise and helping to develop their skills.
• Collaborate with the wider team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Demi Chef or equivalent position in a reputable hospitality establishment.
• Formal culinary training or qualification, such as a diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts.
• Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, flavour profiles and presentation styles.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• A passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
• Excellent team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
