Demand Planner

We are a local artisan bakery and café that serves fresh wholesome breads, pastries, rustic cakes, and nourishing food and drinks.

We are currently looking for an experienced Demand Planner who has the passion and dedication for job fulfillment and commitment. You will be based at our Central Kitchen located in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management, Logistic Management, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, or any related field of study.
• Those without the above qualification but have relevant working experience are encouraged to apply.

Experience

• 3-6 years of working experience in Central Kitchen, food manufacturing, or any food industry.
• Strong foundation in understanding the dynamic field of demand planning, forecasting demand, and ensuring that supply aligns with it.

Responsibilities

• Must have strong forecasting analytical and quantitative skills and strategic thinking.
• Develop accurate weekly and monthly forecast data.
• Work closely with sales and marketing teams to understand supply chain forecast drivers, ensuring that current and accurate information is used for the forecasts.
• Provide input to the Supply Planning department in developing inventory strategies.
• Prepare, report, and communicate forecast and inventory measurements to management (forecast accuracy, inventory plan vs. targets).
• Monitor the accuracy of inventory levels at the central kitchen to ensure supply meets demand.
• Identify and report on inventory trends and slow-moving items.
• Use software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory.
• Assist in the development of sales strategies and setting targets.
• Update order quantities, delivery dates, and costs in compliance with proper authorizations.
• Provide actionable data analysis to support business cases for demand plans using data-driven methods.
• Monitor product costing for all SKUs.
• Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy.
• Effective communication and collaboration are key for Demand Planners, who must often work across various departments and clients.
• Understand potential changes in consumer behavior and how those changes might affect production levels.
• Problem-solving skills are crucial when discrepancies arise between forecasts and actual demand.
• Must have an understanding of supply chain mechanics as it is indispensable for Demand Planners.
