Job description

We are seeking a Decoration Artist/Florist to join our dynamic team at Dokoh Ratna Group (M) Sdn Bhd, specializing in decorations for all types of events. The ideal candidate will be a visionary, with a passion for developing unique and innovative event decorations that leave a lasting impact. You will lead the creative direction for event décor, working closely with our event planning and logistics teams to ensure that every design idea is brought to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creative Concept Development: Develop original, creative, and innovative decoration concepts for weddings, corporate events, product launches, and VIP celebrations.
  • Event Decorations Management: Oversee all aspects of event décor, from initial idea creation to execution. Ensure designs align with the client’s vision and the event theme.
  • Lead Creative Team: Manage and mentor a team of designers and decorators. Provide guidance on design best practices and inspire creativity in every project.
  • Budget Management: Work within client budget constraints to deliver creative and high-quality designs that meet financial goals.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Coordinate with external vendors to source materials, decorations, and equipment. Ensure timely delivery and installation of decoration elements.
  • Trend Research & Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in event décor and design. Continuously introduce fresh ideas to keep our offerings unique and ahead of competitors.
  • Client Interaction: Work closely with clients to understand their event vision, propose design ideas, and manage expectations. Present creative proposals to clients in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Event Execution: Ensure flawless execution of decorative setups on the event day. Manage the on-site creative team and troubleshoot any challenges that arise.

Requirements:

  • Creativity: Must have unique and creative ideas for event decorations. A strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to think outside the box is required.
  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in creative design or event decoration, preferably in event management or wedding planning.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading a creative team. Ability to inspire, mentor, and manage a team of designers.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong ability to think on your feet and solve issues in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Client-Oriented: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to work with clients and turn their ideas into reality.
  • Time Management: Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple events simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Materials: Understanding of various decoration materials, their usage, and best practices in event design and décor setup.

Qualifications:

  • A diploma in Creative Design, Interior Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, CAD, etc.) is an added advantage.
  • A portfolio showcasing a range of creative and unique decoration concepts for events.
