Your future team

We have recently started a journey towards using more AI, digitalization, and automation and better use of data – and this is where your abilities come into play. You will join our Data Science & Engineering team and work at the forefront of AI and machine learning. This role reports directly to the manager of the Data Science & Engineering team based in Denmark and is an integral part of a larger global Data Science & Engineering team. Furthermore, you will be responsible for leading a team of 5 people with various roles such as data scientists, data engineers, and ML Engineers.

What you will be doing

We are seeking a talented and experienced Team Lead who will be responsible for leading a newly established team of 5 talented data scientists & engineers with a focus on maintaining our AI/ML models and AI products. In this role, you will ensure the stability, performance, and continuous operation of our AI products. The role requires a blend of technical and people skills. More concretely, you will have the following responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage an operations team of 5 data scientists, data engineers & ML engineers, ensuring effective collaboration and performance.
2. Ensure all AI products developed by the team are operating smoothly and efficiently.
3. Monitor and maintain the performance of AI products, addressing and resolving issues within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
4. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
5. Be a key part of setting up and recruiting the roles required to create the local team in Malaysia.
6. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of AI solutions.
7. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
8. Manage and prioritize the team's workload, ensuring timely and successful delivery of projects.

What you bring

1. A master's degree in computer science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in Data Science, preferably with experience in the manufacturing industry or with GenAI. At least 2 years of experience in a people management role.
3. Experience managing data scientists and data engineers.
4. Experience working with LLMs, transformer models, vector databases, RAG frameworks, Langchain, etc.
5. Excellent skills in Python, R, SQL, and cloud computing technologies.
6. Hands-on experience in deploying models and algorithms into production systems is desirable.
7. Experience with ML Ops tools and frameworks such as Kubeflow, MLflow, etc. is desirable.
8. Professional proficiency in the English language.
