The Strategic Field & Research Data Specialist will be responsible for reviewing, coordinating, and leveraging data generated by both Precision Agriculture and Research within the AgriValley Crop Department. Working closely with the General Manager – Agriculture, Precision Ag Specialist, and the Agronomy Team, this important role identifies any positive forage yield and/or quality correlation between two or more sets of data at a plot, spatial and field level. The outcome of this process delivers a Genotype x Environment x Management (GxExM) analysis.
After each crop production cycle, review and analyse spatial data, and provide findings and recommendations in the form of a Crop Cycle Assessment Report (CCAR). This information will be used to enhance production (yield), forage quality, and agronomic decision-making practices within the Crop Department.
The Strategic Field & Research Data Specialist function also involves input into Crop Research and Development (R&D) product or practice concepts and design to assist in identifying research needs and to maximise learnings from that research.
Qualification and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in AgriBusiness, Crop Management, Agronomy or equivalent.
A minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in Crop Farming.
Strong understanding of modern crop production systems.
Ability to analyze data, identify trends and correlations, clearly report findings, and provide recommendations.
Provide solutions to problems.
