As a member of Asia Business Planning and Analysis team, the Data Engineer, Manager is responsible to work alongside the Business, Planning, and Analysis department within the Global Non-Production Purchasing Department at Lear, collaborating globally with cross-functional purchasing business units in Asia Pacific, Europe & Africa, and America. Based at UOA Business Park, Shah Alam, this role reports to the Director in Europe.

The Role

Key responsibilities include the following:

• Lead the Non-Prod Data team, ensuring effective collaboration and support.
• Develop and maintain data models, pipelines, dashboards, objects, and applications.
• Oversee the migration of critical dashboards from Power BI to Foundry.
• Ensure all developments and methods are thoroughly documented and reviewed before production.
• Develop and implement a Data Governance policy for Non-Production Purchasing to ensure data integrity and compliance.
• Leverage AI and RPA technologies for Purchasing processes.
• Engage in data cleaning and Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA).
• Assist in data ingestion and optimize data architecture.
• Automate processes within the Non-Production Purchasing department.
• Identify and explore new and novel data sources, both internally and externally.
• Support teams in gaining experience and knowledge in data usage, promoting a data-driven culture.
• Build and maintain infrastructure for data generation, storage, and processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or any STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
• Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining databases/ data warehouses will be an advantage.
• Familiar with extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) process data from various sources into a unified system.
• Strong understanding of data governance and compliance.
• Experience with AI and RPA technologies.
• Ability to automate processes and optimize data architecture.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to take up late evening calls - to join meetings from other regions.
• Willing to work at UOA Business Park, Shah Alam.
