As a member of Asia Business Planning and Analysis team, the Data Engineer, Manager is responsible to work alongside the Business, Planning, and Analysis department within the Global Non-Production Purchasing Department at Lear, collaborating globally with cross-functional purchasing business units in Asia Pacific, Europe & Africa, and America. Based at UOA Business Park, Shah Alam, this role reports to the Director in Europe.
The Role
Key responsibilities include the following:
- Lead the Non-Prod Data team, ensuring effective collaboration and support.
- Develop and maintain data models, pipelines, dashboards, objects, and applications.
- Oversee the migration of critical dashboards from Power BI to Foundry.
- Ensure all developments and methods are thoroughly documented and reviewed before production.
- Develop and implement a Data Governance policy for Non-Production Purchasing to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Leverage AI and RPA technologies for Purchasing processes.
- Engage in data cleaning and Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA).
- Assist in data ingestion and optimize data architecture.
- Automate processes within the Non-Production Purchasing department.
- Identify and explore new and novel data sources, both internally and externally.
- Support teams in gaining experience and knowledge in data usage, promoting a data-driven culture.
- Build and maintain infrastructure for data generation, storage, and processing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or any STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
- Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining databases/ data warehouses will be an advantage.
- Familiar with extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) process data from various sources into a unified system.
- Strong understanding of data governance and compliance.
- Experience with AI and RPA technologies.
- Ability to automate processes and optimize data architecture.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to take up late evening calls - to join meetings from other regions.
- Willing to work at UOA Business Park, Shah Alam.
