Data Center Manager

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Data Center Manager to join our global partner’s team in Malaysia. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring infrastructure reliability, and leading continuous improvement across mission-critical data center operations.

The ideal candidate must be fluent in Chinese to support effective business communication and will bring strong leadership capabilities, a proven track record in data center operations, and deep technical expertise across critical infrastructure systems.

What Will You Be Doing?

1. Develop and implement data center service strategies aligned with company goals and departmental objectives.
2. Ensure high standards of service quality, operational efficiency, cost control, and safety across all IDC operations.
3. Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with backend teams and external data center operators.
4. Drive the shift toward a user-centric operating model, continuously enhancing service delivery and performance.
5. Oversee infrastructure reliability and resilience, ensuring system uptime, availability, and proactive risk management.
6. Lead and evaluate onsite operations and maintenance teams, including third-party and outsourced partners.

What Do You Bring to the Table?

1. A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
2. Fluency in Chinese is required.
3. 5+ years of experience in data center construction, operations, or management—ideally in mid to large-scale environments.
4. In-depth understanding of the IDC lifecycle, from initial planning and build-out to daily operations and optimization.
5. Hands-on experience with leading data center providers, with insight into internal operational mechanisms.
6. Proficiency in DCIM systems and other data center automation tools.
7. Strong foundation in IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL), service design, and process optimization.
8. Technical expertise in infrastructure systems such as power, cooling, and environmental controls.
9. Aware of local and global IDC trends, layouts, and resource planning strategies.
