Customer Relations Officer - Checkout (Full-Time), IKEA Damansara

Job Responsibilities
  • You ensure check-out is effectively equipped at all times throughout the day; ready and available to help customers when needed.
  • You have the knowledge, confidence, and desire to make customer payment easy.
  • You know your levels of authorisation to solve payment problems when they occur and recognise when you need to escalate an issue to someone with higher authorisation.
  • You pass on the relevant information to deal effectively and efficiently with the customer.
  • You offer solutions to frequently asked questions, helping to improve future shopping experiences.
  • You use the till to accurately register products and process payments from customers according to given routines.
  • You ensure our store is a safe and secure environment at all times for visitors and colleagues.
  • Understand the IKEA Concept, global solutions, tools, and working methods, using the appropriate manuals from Inter IKEA Systems to optimise our customers’ shopping experience.
  • Follow cash handling procedures to ensure the security of money handling.
  • Ensure that customers are guided to the appropriate way of payment and secure proper payments from customers.
Qualifications
  • Ability to use and take personal initiative, with the ability to make decisions.
  • Demonstrates a polite and friendly manner with face-to-face customer service experience.
  • Enthusiastic about work and working with others in a team.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good personal discipline and a flexible approach/open to change.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Assertive and able to remain calm and controlled during stressful times.
  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously and computer literate.
  • Willingness to support on weekends/public holidays and work on shifts.
  • Optional - customer service experience will be an added advantage.
