Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Menu Development:
    • Innovate and create new menu items, specials, and seasonal dishes.
    • Ensure all menu items are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  2. Kitchen Management:
    • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including preparation, cooking, and plating.
    • Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and conducting performance evaluations.
    • Maintain inventory, order supplies, and manage food costs to meet financial targets.
  3. Quality Control:
    • Ensure all dishes adhere to the restaurant’s standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
    • Conduct regular tastings and inspections to uphold quality control.
  4. Health & Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations.
    • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
    • Implement and oversee health and safety policies and procedures.
  5. Customer Satisfaction:
    • Engage with customers to gather feedback and implement improvements.
    • Address customer complaints or concerns regarding food quality promptly and professionally.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a similar establishment, with significant experience in a centralized kitchen environment.
  2. Culinary degree or equivalent professional training.
  3. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  4. Exceptional creativity and culinary expertise, particularly in large-scale food production.
  5. In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices, especially within a centralized kitchen setting.
  6. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, capable of managing multiple production lines simultaneously.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  8. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  9. Willingness to travel between Selangor and Ipoh (must have own transport).

Salary and Benefits:

  1. Salary Range: RM10,000 - RM15,000 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
