Job description

To support Commercial Banking, CIMB Singapore Branch, in credit proposals, reviews, and other credit-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare credit reviews (annual reviews, interim reviews, rating reviews, ad-hoc reviews)
  2. Prepare credit proposals for new-to-bank and enhancements.
  3. Prepare pre-screen memos
  4. Prepare Early Warning memos/slides
  5. Prepare other credit-related/amendment memos
  6. Prepare cancellation memos
  7. Spread financial statements and update credit ratings and loan gradings.
  8. Monitor risk triggers and testing of covenants.
  9. Manage queries and responses from stakeholders on credit submissions.
  10. Perform any other tasks as assigned/required from time to time to assess the credit worthiness of the borrowers.

Job Scope

  1. Prepare credit submissions for approvals with the following requirements:
  2. Strict adherence to agreed service level agreement including credit review schedules.
  3. Detailed analysis on financials, client, and industry with up-to-date information. Highlight any financial and credit concerns to relationship managers and approvers.
  4. Good analytical skills on credit and risk assessment of companies in various sectors including but not limited to sources of repayment, collateral, unsecured position, industry sector, geographical locations, and business performance.
  5. Ability to summarise and make appropriate recommendations on credit strategy and decision based on the overall analysis of the credit worthiness of the client, industry, facility structure, etc.
  6. Good writing skills to articulate the pertinent points in credit memo and other supporting documents in the credit submission pack.
  7. Conversant and knowledgeable on the Group’s credit policies, practices, and procedures including policy exceptions, higher credits exceptions, sector limits, and approval processes.
  8. Conversant with regulatory requirements/guidelines including but not limited to credit loan grading.
  9. Coordinate with the Relationship Managers to procure pertinent and key information (e.g., account plan and strategy, customer organisation chart), data and documents (e.g., financial statements, debtors/creditors ageing, list of buyers/suppliers) to perform effective credit evaluation work to facilitate the preparation of credit memo.
  10. Timely response to queries from stakeholders including credit approvers to facilitate effective credit approval process.
  11. Liaise with Credit Administration Department and other stakeholders (e.g., Credit Risk, Portfolio Management) on relevant post-approval credit data and follow up on fulfillment of credit conditions. Credit monitoring on compliance of covenants and risk triggers and seek appropriate credit approval for any breach/non-compliance.
